Klonopin (clonazepam) is a medication that belongs to the class of benzodiazepines and can be used to treat a number of conditions caused by the imbalance of chemicals in the brain. The following withdrawal symptoms are possible if you stop taking Klonopin after using it for a long period of time: increased seizures, stomach pain, sweating, unusual thoughts, trouble sleeping, vomiting, muscle cramps, and tremor. Make sure your withdrawal is gradual. Do not start taking any other medications while on Klonopin to avoid interactions. Please let your doctor know if you are going to use such drugs as sedatives, antifungal medications, HIV protease inhibitors, antihistamines, tranquilizers, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, calcium channel blockers, antidepressants, other medications for seizures, or antibiotics. Pregnant women are not supposed to take Klonopin as it may harm an unborn baby. Other medical conditions you have must also be reported, such as kidney or liver disease, a history of depression, a history of addiction to drugs or alcohol, breathing problems, glaucoma, or suicidal thoughts, as your dose will be adjusted or other recommendations will be provided by your doctor.
